The prestigious Newtype Anime Awards have crowned their champions, and it was an absolutely massive night for two of the past year's most talked-about series. The anxious rockers of Bocchi the Rock! and the intrepid explorers of Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun both completely dominated the ceremony, each walking away with an incredible three awards! It’s a stunning testament to both shows' quality and the massive fanbases they’ve built.

On one hand, you have Bocchi the Rock!, the breakout slice-of-life hit that perfectly captured our hearts with its hilarious comedy, relatable characters, and absolutely killer music. Most notably, the series snagged the coveted awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay, recognizing the incredible talent and vision that brought Suletta and Miorine's story to life.
