The Remarried Empress Live-Action Hits Controversy! Studio N Apologizes Over Shocking Costume Prop!

Posted by Noon Anime Team on November 16, 2025

Hold onto your thrones, Noon Anime readers, because the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of The Remarried Empress has just hit its first major royal scandal! We were all buzzing with excitement after getting our first glimpse of the cast, including the incredible Ji-hoon Ju as Emperor Sovieshu. The stills looked gorgeous, the costumes lavish... but one tiny detail in a promotional photo has caused a massive uproar online, forcing the production studio to issue a swift apology.

So what caused this firestorm? Eagle-eyed fans noticed a medal pinned to Ji-hoon Ju’s imperial costume that looked alarmingly familiar. The prop bore a shocking resemblance to the Long Service Award of Nazi Germany, a symbol tied to one of history's darkest chapters. As you can imagine, the backlash was immediate and intense. Fans and viewers flooded social media, expressing their shock and disappointment that such a historically charged design could make its way into a major production, calling for an explanation and immediate action.

Thankfully, Studio N, the powerhouse behind the series, heard the criticism loud and clear. They released a formal apology, acknowledging their serious oversight. The studio stated they were not aware of the prop's historical connotations and deeply regretted the controversy it caused. They've promised to immediately correct the design and have assured fans that they will exercise much greater caution and historical diligence going forward. While this was a major misstep, we're hoping the production team can learn from this and get back on track to delivering the epic adaptation of Empress Navier's story that we've all been waiting for!
